The Asiri Group of Hospitals consists of three
hospitals. Two are situated in the City of Colombo,
in close proximity to each other. The third, being
the latest addition to the Group, is located in
Matara to serve the people of Ruhuna.

Future Prospects
Although the
population of this country is on the increase,
private health care has not grown significantly
to meet this demand. Total bed strength
in the private health care sector is still
only 2-3000. In addition more and more people
are gaining access to medical insurance
schemes. Therefore, there exists a tremendous
potential for private health care and Asiri
is gearing itself to meet the future with
expansion in bed strength and technological
facilities.
With this in mind, Asiri will continue to
invest in the latest medical technology
so as to maintain its leading position in
the health care industry. A 64 slice CT
scanner with its specialized cardiac capability
is high on the list of priorities for 2007.
Towards this the following projects have
been undertaken.
Construction of 50 additional rooms and
4 additional operating theatres at Asiri
Surgical Hospital. Work is scheduled to
commence in early 2007.

Asiri Hospitals Kandy, a BOI company set
up to operate a stateof the-art hospital
in Kandy. We are also currently negotiating
with different parties to manage and operate
several of the older established hospitals
in the country. Our objective is to provide
the best health care facilities at affordable
prices to our valued customers whilst at
the same time looking after our shareholders
as well as our employees who remain the
backbone of our success. Towards this end,
more time
and money will be invested in staff training
programmes in IT, PR etc. which will increase
efficiency and make Asiri more “ customer
friendly “.
