and Regenerative Medicine
STEM CELL THERAPY
The Asiri Group signed an agreement with Stempeutics Research Pvt
Ltd. (http://www.stempeutics.com) and
the Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM) - Manipal Groups'
Stem Cell Research, Development, Clinical Trials, and Education arms to
commence stem cell research, development, clinical trials and education in Sri
Lanka. MIRM is the first Institute for Regenerative Medicine5t4t in
India. To operationalize this agreement Asiri's state of the art genetic
laboratory will be developed into Asiri Centre for Genomic and
Regenerative Medicine, commencing 1 August 2008. With the signing of this
agreement Asiri will be able to offer stem cell therapy for patient with
incurable diseases such as Parkinson Disease, Spinal Cord Injuries, Critical
Limb Ischaemia, Motor Neuron Disease, and Myocardial
Infarction brining hope for patients with these conditions.
The picture below shows representatives from Asiri and Stempeutics at
the signing ceremony on 24 July 2008 at Asiri Surgical Hospital.
